Program Description

This course helps further students' dental assisting careers by introducing them to oral radiography fundamentals and prepares them to sit for the DANB Radiation Health and Safety exam. The course is approved by the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners.

Prerequisites/Co-requisites
Prerequisite:
Requires entry level knowledge of dental assisting and dental anatomy and is intended for those with 0-6 months of dental assisting work experience or successful completion of a dental assisting program. If claiming successful completion of prior learning, a completion certificate or unofficial transcripts will be required. For those actively working in a dental office, an employer verified letter will be required prior to enrollment. Maryland requires state certified Dental Radiation Technologists be 18+ years old and hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
